Fall Play - Lord of the Flies
VHSL COMPETITIONS
VHSL 2025 - Our first Competition of this year will be held on Saturday, November 1st starting at 9am at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg. We will be presenting our One Act, Badger by Don Zolidis! Our Theatre III & IV Honors Students will be performing in this Competition! Tickets are free to this event and we encourage our Grove Theatre Community to come support us!
Congratulations to our Theatre Arts II - IV Students on November 9, 2024 in the Catoctin District with their FIRST PLACE Win! Their One Act, Haters written by Don Zolidis and directed by Woodgrove Senior Colin McIntyre. VHSL is the Virginia High​ School League representing Woodgrove High School for​ Theatre in the One Act Competition. Students placed FIRST for the Catoctin District and THIRD for 4C Regionals on November 23, 2024.

VA Thespian FESTIVAL
January 8 - 10, 2026
Students who register will attend the state’s premier high school theatre event, hosted at the Capital One Hall and Hilton Conference Center. This three-day celebration offers students the chance to shine in competitions, participate in dynamic workshops, and enjoy captivating performances, all while connecting with fellow theatre enthusiasts and professionals.

Open mic nights -
Dates TBA in early August!
Run by the International Thespian Honor Society students, and supervised by Mrs. Pruzina, Open Mics are a ​quarterly performance opportunity for all of WHS! Sing, Tell a Story, Play an ​Instrument or any other performance appropriate for a High School Black Box ​audience! Cover charge is $5 and all funds go to the theatre scholarship fund!
Cappies NCA
OUR Cappies Show, Legally Blonde, the Musical is set for Saturday, April 18 at 2pm, 2026
Students have the unique opportunity to critique their peers in selected plays and musicals through the Cappies program, a tradition that began in the 1990s and continues with the NCA Cappies. This longstanding initiative fosters a supportive community where young critics can sharpen their skills and celebrate the performing arts.
